Before You Start Classes

Before
you decide to learn Putonghua, please read the following points: 1.
If you have recently just arrived Hong Kong, please ensure your daily
routine is settled before you decide to start learning Putonghua. 2.
If your job often needs you to go on business trips, interviews and/or
irregular working hours, then I would advise you not to start learning
Putonghua, as learning the language requires long and continuous practice,
a certain
amount of homework and commitment.
Your effectiveness in learning Putonghua largely depends on your learning
attitude. If you have a serious attitude to start learning, then you are
already half way there! 3. Most of my students are working professionals and our classes are usually held at their offices, though sometimes at their homes. My preference is to have the lessons in their office conference rooms or meeting rooms because we can use a blackboard and it is more convenient for the student. Also most of my students are based on Hong Kong Island and, because of my tight schedule, I usually only teach students in Central or near MTR stations on Hong Kong Island. 4.
I believe my hourly rate is reasonable - in line with the market rates of
other mandarin teachers. However rates amongst my students will vary
depending on what level of proficiency the student wishes to attain and
their level of commitment. I therefore provide tailor made materials for
every different student to suit their goals, levels and needs.
I therefore
encourage those potential students who have an interest in learning the
language to have a very brief sit down meeting with me. I am professional
in nature - once a price is agreed that price will stand. 5. Finally, from my experience, I believe that the language talent is not only the prerequisite to achieve success in learning language. Matchless determination, perseverance, patience, repeating exercises will put your overall plan into practice. All those are the key points to achieve success in learning language. Like climbing the Great wall, you have to climb up step by step, however, when you see the spectacular scenery after you reach the summit, you will realise that the effort you have made is meaningful and fully worthwhile! Happy Learning! ¡@ |
